Staff Information
Luke Hough, Operations Manager for Alaska Crane, and operators Phil Beachell, Ken Griffin and Shane Shivers have over 50 years of crane and construction experience between them, and provide the foundation for the company’s success, as well as its ability to safely, efficiently and successfully meet a wide variety of customer needs. These operators are well-qualified and have a diverse knowledge of cranes, as well as the construction industry in general.
Our crane operators are trained and certified by Denali Crane Inspection, LLC on a regular basis. All the company’s operators are equally comfortable lifting panels for new multi-story buildings in the bustling midtown area of Anchorage, such as on the 2009 JL Towers job, and performing out-of-the-ordinary lifts, such as moving a crated Maggie, the elephant, onto a semi-truck for her departure from the Alaska Zoo in 2007.
Alaska Crane Ltd. is committed to ensuring safe and healthy work conditions for all its employees as well as its clients. As a member of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association, our staff has ongoing access to the latest industry developments, involving pertinent issues related to safety, risk management, regulations, insurance and more. All cranes owned and operated by Alaska Crane Ltd. are certified by Denali Crane Inspection, Inc. on an annual basis, and weekly safety meeting attendance is required of all Alaska Crane Ltd. employees.
We actively strive to implement accident prevention strategies and to address any areas of concern before they become a problem. This proactive approach to safety and health issues is reflected in Alaska Crane’s excellent safety record.
